Maybe time has its own kind of gravity and the “present” is something that consciousness creates by weighing down the fabric of it, like how possibly a huge planet sitting in the multidimensional fabric of space weighs it down making gravity around it so things orbit (?) … There is a time-symmetry theory about both the past and the future of a particle having an effect on its behavior…. although I haven’t finished reading the article yet, I got too excited about the picture of it in my head…

Carrot Cake

I made this once because I had carrot pulp, and I figured I might send a small one for mother’s day. But I just tried to make it again and my oven half destroyed it, thanks a lot oven.

Here’s the recipe I started from, the main difference I made was to use carrot pulp from a juicer and a little bit of carrot juice, instead of shredded carrots. And I made a few other little changes, I can’t totally remember, but here is my best guess….

DRY INGREDIENTS

2⅓ c all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cornstarch (possibly not necessary)

1.5 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp “pumpkin pie spice” or nutmeg/whatever or more cinnamon

½ tsp salt.

LIQUID INGREDIENTS

1/8 cup flax seed meal

1/4 c warm water

1/4 c carrot juice (less or none if you are using shredded carrots not carrot pulp from juicer.)

1/2 cup almond milk or soymilk or water…

1½ c sugar

1 c oil

1.5 tsp vanilla

FINAL GROUP

2 c carrot pulp from juicer. or finely shredded carrots.

optional: walnuts or raisins or whatever. maybe half cup.

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350. mix together dry ingredients. separately stir the warm water with the flax seed meal. then add to that all the other liquid ingredients. grease two 8 or 9 inch pans. Combine dry to liquid and mix but don’t overmix. then fold in the carrot pulp and whatever else. at this point if you feel like it needs an eighth or quarter cup more almond milk go ahead and add it. the batter should be thicker than regular cake batter, more like brownie batter. put half in each pan and smooth it out until its even.

The original recipe said to bake for 20 minutes but I had to for twice as long as that. just bake until a fork poked into the middle comes out clean.

after that, let the cakes cool, take them out of the pan carefully, put a big dollop of frosting in the middle of one, smooth it out most of the way to the edge, then put the other layer on top. then add frosting on the top of that, and sprinkle cinnamon powder decoratively. put the whole thing in the freezer or fridgerator for a few hours or ideally overnight. its way better and holds together better once it has time to rest, and the frosting has time to seep into it a little.

FROSTING

8 oz vegan cream cheese (1 package of trader joes fake cream cheese)
¼ c margarine, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1-ish bag powdered sugar (16 oz)

mix these together until smooth. thats all. you might have to sit there crushing lumps out of it for awhile.

The new image, released today (April 10) by the European Southern Observatory, shows the planetary nebula IC 1295 like it has never been seen before. This picture, which ESO scientists dubbed “ghostly,” marks the first time the nebula has been imaged such unprecedented detail.

“It has the unusual feature of being surrounded by multiple shells that make it resemble a microorganism seen under a microscope, with many layers corresponding to the membranes of a cell,” officials from the European Southern Observatory wrote in a statement.

I disagree with big domes because how do you even get up there to make it? Lava fountains are an easier choice.
